Family, points, rewards
DinkyTask's motivation system works inside the family. The parent sets the structure, and the child earns points and can request rewards based on real task completion.
Family structure
- multiple parents can exist in one family,
- children have separate accounts,
- the parent manages tasks, plans, points, and rewards.
The two point types
- Stars — typically linked to required tasks.
- Diamonds — typically linked to bonus or extra tasks.
This helps children see both the minimum expectations and the extra opportunities.
Rewards
Rewards are created by the parent. They can be simple family rewards such as extra screen time, shared play, ice cream, or a weekend program.
- a reward can have both a star and diamond cost,
- the child sends a request,
- the parent approves or rejects it.
A practical setup
It works well to combine smaller daily rewards with larger weekly goals. That keeps the system motivating in both the short and longer term.
