AI Homework Helper
The AI Homework Helper gives children learning support while parents keep visibility and control.
How it works
DinkyTask does not have a separate free-chat mode. Children can only ask questions inside guided topics created by a parent, for example for an essay, presentation, or difficult lesson.
Guided topics
The parent creates the topic: title, starting instruction, and optional source material. Source material can be typed text, a photo of a notebook or textbook page, or a processed item from the learning-material library. The child can then ask follow-up questions inside that topic, and the parent can review the conversation later.
When a topic is created, the AI can also show a reliability signal on the parent side. This does not mean the uploaded material is “bad”; it shows how safely the helper can support the child using the provided material. This technical signal is not shown in the child chat header.
Source material and general knowledge
If source material is provided, the AI primarily follows that material by default. For topics started from learning material, the child can open a readable source view with the short summary, detailed summary, full material, and generated narration when available. The parent can separately enable Allow general knowledge; in that case, the AI may also use its own general knowledge. If this is not enabled, the helper stays more strictly grounded in the provided study material.
Safety
The system uses several risk-reduction layers: uncertainty handling, personal-data filtering, input and output moderation, image filtering, and parental visibility.
AI credit allowance
The premium plan provides a monthly AI credit allowance. If the allowance runs out, AI features pause, while the core DinkyTask workflow remains available.
